Bachelor of Counselling (Human Services)

This course has been designed to train professionals for a career in counselling. To this extent, they will acquire both the knowledge and the practical skills they require to be successful in this industry. Graduates will be able to cater to clients seeking help regarding mental health issues, child abuse as well as substance abuse. Students will familiarize themselves with social theory as well as its manifestations in society in addition to having adequate knowledge in psychology.  Taking into account, the tangibility and practicality of counselling, the practical skills and techniques of the student will also be developed. To fully train students for this career, they will complete practicums under the guidance of competent practitioners so as to gain adequate experience before starting to practice.

Attainment of an Associate Degree or another level 6 qualification may be granted entry into the third and final year of the programme
